The hashtag, #WhoIsMuhammad has been trending worldwide Thursday, in response to the negative portrayals of Islam, Muslims and the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him).
The recent attacks in Paris last week on the French satirical magazine, Charlie Hebdo, has generated hate toward Muslims on social media and elsewhere, with hashtags like #KillAllMuslims.
The global Muslim community took to Twitter and Facebook to share with the world who Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) is and what he means to them.
He was a man of love, honor, faith and respect.
He was a man who stood up for human rights.
He put the unity in community.
He was a man of smiles.
He was a man of esteemed character.
He responded to hate, with love.
His positive influence is universal.
He reminded the world to be patient during trying times.
